Skeamer - Toast Up

Skeamer has just released his brand new track called 'Toast Up'. The track seems to be dedicated to Skeamer's journey from the bottom to where he is now, and he also mentions where he wants to be in the future and who he has encountered on his journey. In Skeamer's first verse he says "started from the gutter and I came up, my day 1's are real they never changed up" this refers to how Skeamer began his journey from the very bottom and ever since he has been working his way up to the top, and the people that have been supporting him since he began from the bottom have always been there for him and have never changed or switched from him, because they are loyal and clearly want the best for Skeamer. Also in the first verse Skeamer mentions "same city, same block, same friends, still beefing over turf with the same skengs" letting us know that Skeamer has always remained true to his city and his friends, Skeamer is letting us know that not much has changed from the beginning and he still has the same beef with the same people since the start. In the second verse Skeamer says "I used to want trainers, now I want a house, something by a lake, no sirens" referring that when Skeamer first began his journey he only wanted to make money for his shoes, but now he can see that he wants to move onto bigger things and get his own house, he also lets us know that he ideally wants to buy a house where he can relax (no police trouble and somewhere calm and peaceful by a lake somewhere).

The music introduces itself slowly and calmly paced, but as soon as the chorus hits, the bass also hits and makes the melody become much faster and more energetic. The hi-hats, bass and sound effects combined create a bouncy and powerful rhythm for the lyrics to overlay on-top off. During the first verse the pace is slow, but the bass allows for the flow to stay powerful and energetic. The hi-hats also help to speed up the pace of the first verse with the bass at certain points for a variation of pace throughout. There are also some solo piano sequences to help slow down the pace of the melody throughout the verse, so the lyrics seem more powerful and 'real'.

The music video that was created by 'pacman_tv' uses a wide variety of different angles of the guys in the music videos to show diversity and creativity in the edit. There are also some slo-motion cut away shots that help to direct the narrative of the video (about Skeamer's journey). There is also the use of some drone shots to help establish the location of each scene. In the video you can also see police cars, that really show and get across the theme and feel of the music video.
