Sho Shallow - Calm

Sho Shallow has just dropped his brand new track which emphasises the location of where he is currently situated, the music video gives us a clear picture of how Sho Shallow is currently living and his lyrics tell us what he is currently doing during this stage of his career. In the first verse, Sho Shallow says "born winner, they don't need to check my palm" referring to us that Sho Shallow believes that he was born to succeed in life and he doesn't need no palm-reader to tell him that great success is heading his way (as he already knows and feels that he is winning and will always win). In the same verse, later, Sho Shallow mentions "I got plenty man trynna end my run, oh god" informing us that Sho Shallow does not have an easy and simple way up to the top, he is constantly being harassed by people who are trying to bring him down and end his career to fame. Sho Shallow then mentions "funny thing is that the ops keep talking, and they don't even live life" referring to us that the people who dislike Sho Shallow and who want to bring him down constantly talk about Sho Shallow in a bad manner and talk lies, but they aren't in any place to be talking about Sho Shallow because they are not working and living like Sho Shallow is. Later during the track, Sho Shallow says "and that's real though, loyalty, treat my son like royalty" telling us that loyalty is a real thing and that it constantly creeps up, it can make or break the closest of friends, Sho Shallow then tells us that he treats his son like a king and no less, proving himself worthy of a good father.

The music produced by 'Detonator' is suited perfectly with the theme of the music video, the melody and theme of the music sounds like nothing heard on a rap track before, it gives audience the kick that the track has origins from another country and is based in a tropical landscape. The instruments used are clearly ones from around the world, giving the beat a unique and diverse rhythm to it. However, Detonator used a genius technique to combine beats together, not only does he incorporate these foreign instruments into the beat, but he also forms a beat out of bass and hi-hats which are typically featured in a rap track to create an up-beat feel to it. The combination of these two beats mix perfectly together and the finished melody proves to be energetic and flows perfectly with the lyrics on top.

The music video directed by 'KYE TALIANA' create the tropical vibe for the video, the slo-motion introduction to the video gives the audience the immediate knowledge that the track is not in England and is based in a tropical location. During the opening scenes, the cuts are covered with zoom-in transitions and black fade outs to soften the impact of the harsh cut so that the movement seems more natural on-screen. The video uses a variety of different shots; drone shots, establishing shots, slo-motion shots, medium shots, wide angle shots and many more. The constant cut-away shots of the country they are situated in reminds the audience that this is no normal track, this is a diverse and creative track that has taken to another country for our entertainment.
