KG - We Ball

KG has just released his brand new track called 'We Ball'. Straight from the beginning of the track KG says "the horrible disease killed my momma" letting us know that KG has tragically lost his mother and through this lyric we are able to interpret that the tone of the track is going to be deep and an emotional song. KG also later says "I just wanna see my n*ggas ballin" referring to us that KG just wants to see his mates becoming successful and still rolling with him, rather than the snakes and fake friends that he was warned about. KG also mentions "only real brothers when we walking" this refers that KG has come across people who have put on an act to pretend to be one of his close mates and behind his back will betray him and act completely different to how 'mates' should act. Shortly after, KG also says "living in this world is my biggest lesson" this lets us know that KG has been put through so much over the past years that he has also learned so much from what has happened and what he has done, he has learned from bad mistakes, bad people, unfortunate times, but he has also learned from his closest friends (those that he can trust) too. KG also lets us know about his brother, and what he has been going through, KG says "I'm thinking about my brother and his deep depression, cos ever since my momma gone, yeah he been stressing" telling us that his brother is suffering from depression and ever since their mother tragically passed, he has been stressing over the loss.

The music begins off quite calm yet fast paced, soon after KG begins his verse the bass drop lets us know the powerful change in the melody. The hi-hats mixed with the bass create a very fast paced combination that mix together to form a very energetic flow and beat. There is also the constant use of a sound effect in the background that keeps the beat slow and steady to match the flow of the lyrics. Half way through the track there is also the use of a stop effect (typically used by DJ's) but then the beat comes back strong again to show a diverse use of rhythm.

The music video tells a clear narrative to the audience, the video begins in a cemetery which instantly lets us know that the track is going to be a deep song, there is also a variety of different shots used throughout; medium shots, wide angle shots, tilting shots. Also there is the use of the handheld camera effect to create a faster paced effect to the video. The cuts in the video are quite fast paced and hard-hitting to maintain the speed of the video to be more upbeat and paced. There are also some cutaway shots that are used in the video to help direct the narrative to the audience.
